Good morning, meng.
Thanks to my eclectic taste in music, and my penchant for nostalgically reminiscing about my days as a performer, now I’m depressed as fuck, which sucks cuz it makes missing my wife and kid worse.
Damn you Chet Baker, Nat King Cole, Sonny Rollins, Frank Sinatra, Thelonious Monk, and Joao Gilberto!
Fucking feelings!
Chet Baker is playing in my headphones right now. I can’t believe this wasn’t the first playlist I turned to after two months away. If you pay close attention, with every note you can feel what it was like to have such a tortured soul as his was.
Powerful stuff.
Yeah we like to goof around from time to time and let off some steam. But when the shit becomes FUBAR, we’re ready to go. It doesn’t make us any better than anyone else, it’s just what we were meant to do.
Happy Memorial Day, and a personal thanks to those who support us!
I’ve been sick for a week now and I’m running out of phlegm and so pieces of my bronchioles and cerebral cortex are coming out of my nose wutt wutt wutt
I found a nice book about Zen by DT Suzuki called “A Manual of Zen Buddhism” at Barnes & Noble which costs about $14 bucks there. So I check on Amazon for its reviews and it seemed worth it to buy, however, when I checked the Kindle version, it was only $2.99. Well shit. So I downloaded it into my handy dandy Kindle app on my phone, and boom… enlightenment and frugality all in an iPhone!
Who says technology is the downfall of humanity when I can simply read the Lankavatara Sutra on my muffuggin’ phone and reach nirvana and shit and feel like i’m constantly two inches off the ground ‘cuz I’m all awakened and shit?! Plus I saved a bunch of greenbacks!!! I MEAN DAMN.
Hey. I’m 75 stories up in San Antonio’s random skyscraper “Tower of the Americas.” It’s pretty random.

Hey, I’m in San Antonio’s Riverwalk. It’s nice. It’s hot as fuck out, but it’s nice. Some of the nicest strangers in the world are here in San Antonio. Either that, or I’m just so fresh out of boot camp that I’m still not used to people saying nice things to me. Even the ducks are nice. One pecked my friend in the ass asking for a bite to eat. That was epic.
That time you walked a half mile to the gym and found that it was closed, then a half mile to the dining hall and found that it was closed, then walked another half mile to the other dining hall and it was closed, and then you stand in front of a restaurant realizing you forgot your wallet, and so you jog all the way back to your room and find yourself eating a Kit Kat bar for breakfast.
Hey look, I’m about to give Kit Kat some head.

Liberty call, liberty call! Let my four day weekend begin! I just wish I could go home and see my wife and kid :(
Chances are I’ll end up hitting up San Antonio’s River Walk and nerd out in a book store and coffee shop reading Lao Tzu and thugging out on twitter. Sailor Sonny is still the same ole Sonny!
